George arrives in town and hooks up with his old buddy Clifford who informs him that the squat brick building which has sprung up since he left is actually a TV station. Picking the lock, George lets himself into the abandoned building. With a small motion that will change his own life and that of the community, George actives the station's transmitter.
Meanwhile, the unsuspecting citizens of this remote Cree community in Northern Quebec are busy doing what they always do
hanging out at "Gerry's Place" watching boring TV. Suddenly George's face appears on the screen and announces that he'll be holding auditions. Mayor Gerry Keeshig pretty much owns Moose, including "Gerry's Place", which he runs with the help of his sidekick Leonard. Gerry is none too excited to see patrons rushing out of his multipurpose establishment to audition for MOOSE TV.
At the auditions we meet "Megog, the Destroyer", Joan "Littlebear" Whitney and the Beaver, and the gorgeous Robin Cheechoo. Robin just happens to have experience working in television, including procuring government grants. However, it's pretty clear that George isn't really interested in Robin's mind
And that Gerry, who happens to be George's father, isn't interested in MOOSE TV getting off the ground.
Gerry, who is also Moose's law enforcement officer, arrives at the station to arrest George. Just as Gerry's being connected to the Toronto Police Department, George mentions that he might be forced to make some inquiries about government TV grants. Gerry makes a call to the Toronto Police Department but hangs up the phone when George mentions he's considering making his own calls to a few government funding agencies. The two come to an "understanding".
It appears that MOOSE TV is on the air. Defeated, Gerry and Leonard retreat to contemplate their secret plans to build a fishing lodge to lure international tourists
